Origin: India. Cumin seeds are used in baking, countless curries & masalas, cheese making & even sparingly, in fresh salsas. In some cases, a toasting to begin the release of flavour is advisable, but use your judgment on this. If using the seed in a dish, you might like to try toasting some for the earthy component & leaving some raw for the greener character
